What is the Five Filaments?

The Five Filaments (5F) is a fascia-forward, embryology-informed spiral movement rubric grounded in rotationally coupled motion—the understanding that no joint moves in isolation. Drawing on the latest research in hyaluronan (HA), we use the 5F to work with the body's inner ocean: the fluidic, water-infused bioelectric signaling matrix.

Non-denominational by design, the 5F transcends individual modalities while drawing insight from many, forming a pluralist, universally applicable approach to human movement.

THEORY and PRACTICE, INTEGRATED

Build a clear, embodied understanding of spirality in anatomy to support your confidence as a teacher. This training offers a structured framework you can draw on when introducing spiral-based anatomy within your movement community.

Five Filaments is an integrated rubric for movement analysis, bringing it back together in practical application. The 5F Specialist training is a professional development pathway for movement practitioners who want to explore the art and science of movement in greater depth.

The Five Filaments: who is it for?

The Five Filaments rubric is non-denominational and can be applied across movement disciplines. The 5F Specialist Training is open to anyone with a prior qualification as a movement professional. While the framework is not tied to any single method, it will feel particularly familiar to those working in yoga and bodyweight-based practices.

This training is suited to practitioners who are ready to re-examine how they understand anatomy, refine their perceptual skills, and develop a more integrated approach to movement. The emphasis is on deepening professional competence and clarity in how you work with clients, rather than replacing your existing modality.

This training will best serve you if:

  • You are deeply curious about new paradigm anatomy, holistic/wholistic physiology and fascia.
  • You have a previous movement or therapy qualification and/or you love to move.
  • You are a self-initiated lifelong learner passionate about movement as healing.
  • You would like a strong anatomical foundation and evidence-based rationale for your offering.

This training is not for you if...

  • You are not interested in renewing your anatomy from a fascia-focused perspective.
  • You are content with the nuts-and-bolts model of classical biomechanics.
  • You are attached exclusively to a predefined system of movement.
  • You prefer an entirely didactic approach.

The Five Filaments approach to

Yoga Teacher Training

The Five Filaments approach to Yoga Teacher Training invites you into a curriculum where spirality is not only a biomechanical principle but a lived, developmental process. While we explore rotation, fascial continuity, and the intelligent organisation of the body in movement, we also recognise that spirality expresses itself psychologically, relationally, and philosophically. It is the pattern through which we return to ourselves — again and again — each time with greater coherence, subtlety, and integration. In this way, spirality becomes both structure and story: a way the tissues organise, and a way the self unfolds toward itself.
